Courtney Morris Gardner was born and raised in McDowell County. She has always been passionate about this community, even from her first pep rally at MHS.
She graduated from Western Carolina University in 2006. After working inpatient in various children's hospitals across the country, she graduated with her Master's of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Duke University in 2011.
She has worked in pediatric primary care as well as a former Medical Director of Victory Junction Camp in Randleman, NC, advocating for camp and caring for thousands of children with medical complexities.
In 2017, she was selected for the Duke-Johnson and Johnson Nurse Leadership program, where she participated in a year-long leadership intensive with 30 nurse leaders across the United States, with mentoring from Duke faculty and other medical experts.
She is a member of the North Carolina chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the North Carolina Pediatric Society.
She continues to stay current and adapt to ever changing evidence based medicine, understanding that each family has unique preferences and needs. She works hard to personalize care to each person and treats your family as her own.
