Produce for Peds

A collaboration between the NC Cooperative Extension - McDowell, West Marion Community Forum, McDowell Local Food Advisory Council, and Marion Pediatrics and Adolescents brings locally grown produce into the office to share with children and families. The produce is procured locally and when in season, comes straight from McDowell County farmers.

Reach Out and Read

Books as tools

At each well child visit between the ages of 1 month and 5 years, we emphasize the importance of reading aloud to their children and give every child a new book to take home and keep. We’re proud to be part of the Reach Out and Reach Carolinas network of trained providers supporting children and families in building strong relationships, healthy routines and childhood literacy.

Kids in Parks

Outdoor Fun

Kids in Parks is a network of family-friendly outdoor adventures called TRACK Trails. We promote nature, hiking and activity by utilizing the TRACK Trail program where kids can earn prizes in the mail for tracking their adventures.
